Brazilian MICE agents who visited Croatia during their study trip this March were captivated by the charm of this Mediterranean gem, its historic event venues, and the congress offerings of its hotels.

Organized by the Croatian Tourist Board and the tourist boards of Dubrovnik, Opatija, and Zagreb, a fam trip was arranged for 11 Brazilian representatives from agencies specializing in MICE, eight from Sao Paulo and three from Rio de Janeiro. The interested buyers were brought together by the Brazilian marketing and PR agency Athos, led by Luis Fernando Destro, and ITA Airways provided the air tickets. From the 3rd to the 10th of March 2024, Brazilian buyers toured the most attractive tourist sites, congress hotels, and event spaces in these Croatian cities and experienced the premium Croatian gastronomic offerings.

After a two-day visit to Opatija, they were hosted in Dubrovnik by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board from the 5th to the 7th of March, before continuing their journey to Zagreb.

On their first day in Dubrovnik, they had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the excellent congress offerings and capacities of the Valamar Lacroma and Rixos Premium Dubrovnik hotels, followed by a delightful host dinner. Guided by Priscilla Zumpano Martinović, a tourist guide of Brazilian origin, they explored the most attractive sights hidden behind the monumental walls of Dubrovnik on the second day, including the Museum of Modern Art, Lazareti, Revelin Fortress, and the Rector's Palace and Sponza Palace as historical event venues.

They also visited the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik hotel and took a boat trip to the cultivation site of Ston oysters at Bota Šare, where they enjoyed a tasting. It's an understatement to say that the guests were thrilled with the fascinating and authentic experience.

They also got acquainted with the congress offerings of other Dubrovnik congress hotels such as Dubrovnik Sun Gardens, Hotel Dubrovnik Palace, Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel, and experienced the excellence of Dubrovnik's gastronomy during dinner at the Posat restaurant.

Among the participants of the fam trip who visited Dubrovnik were representatives of agencies specializing in conference organization, corporate events, and incentives. It was their first time in Dubrovnik, and their feedback and experiences were extremely positive, with concrete inquiries for organizing events in Dubrovnik currently underway.

I am sure that the whole group was impressed by the warmth, beauty, and sympathy of the country, and surely we will see more groups arriving in Croatia soon," said Luiz Fernando Destro from Athos, highlighting that an article about this trip was published on Mercado & Eventos, one of the largest tourism portals in Brazil.

Through such and similar promotional activities, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board aims to attract an even larger number of international conferences, incentives, and events to Dubrovnik, positioning it as a unique European meetings and incentive destination.
