Gathering of meeting professionals held in Dubrovnik
The Croatian Meeting Professionals Association (CMPA) held its traditional summer gathering on the 30th of July in Dubrovnik. The event brought together around 30 participants from the MICE industry, including colleagues from the Dubrovnik area and members from the Makarska coast. This year's gathering was hosted by Hotel Valamar Lacroma, with organizational support from the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and the Croatian National Tourist Board.
The first part of the event was dedicated to a retrospective on the association's work, with a special emphasis on activities and achievements over the past year. Participants had the opportunity to recall key moments and successes of the association and discuss future plans and goals.
Workshop and practical exercises on gastronomy at events
Following the introductory part, a workshop on the topic of Gastronomy at Events was held. The workshop began with a lecture on the importance of food and beverage (F&B) services in event organization, where new trends in gastronomy were presented. This was followed by a panel discussion with local F&B experts who shared their insights and experiences from practice.
After a break, participants had the opportunity to analyze several case studies on the organization of F&B services at various events. These examples showcased different approaches and innovative solutions in event gastronomy. The workshop concluded with practical group work, where participants were given tasks and presented their solutions.
Grand joint gathering at the end of the year
The gathering concluded with a communal lunch, which provided an opportunity for informal socializing and networking. CMPA plans to continue organizing such workshops in the autumn, with planned gatherings in Zadar and Opatija. The highlight of the annual activities will be the annual Forum, which will be held on the 9th of December in Zagreb. At that time, experiences and conclusions from previous workshops will be summarized, and participants will have the opportunity to hear from experts such as chef-educators, F&B managers of world hotels, and a nutritionist doctor.
