On the shelves of the library, where the exciting scent of ink could be smelt in the past, there are more than twenty thousand volumes, including 137 incunabula, church chorales and more than one thousand two hundred manuscripts. Other valuable books include the only preserved copy of the first edition of Judita by Marko Marulić and an early transcript of Osman by the Dubrovnik baroque poet Ivan Gundulić.
