“The Dubrovnik Dance Dream – Small Steps Toward Big Dreams” is a family dance performance that follows, through the cycle of the seasons, the life and artistic journey of a girl from Dubrovnik on her path toward fulfilling her dream of becoming a ballerina.
The story begins in the present, in the early morning of the city, where the adult and accomplished Pavla, through a meeting and conversation, begins to recall her own childhood and growing up. The audience then enters her story told through dance: from a carefree childhood and the first encounter with ballet (Spring), through a period of work, growth, and repetition (Summer), facing doubt and important life decisions (Autumn), to maturity, discipline, and the realization of a dream (Winter).
At the end, the story closes with a return to the present, where the circle symbolically continues — the dream of one little girl becomes an inspiration for new beginnings. The performance celebrates the process, not only the result, and invites the audience to recognize their own dreams in small, everyday steps.
