On July 25th, the traditional annual gathering of MICE experts, DBV MIM - Meetings Industry Meeting, took place in Dubrovnik. Around 30 colleagues from the Dubrovnik area, mainly representatives of hotels and hotel chains, event spaces, PCO and DMC agencies, and the Convention Bureau of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, gathered at Hotel Kompas. These gatherings, organized by the Croatian Meeting Professionals Association (CMPA), are held several times a year in different destinations, with one always taking place in Dubrovnik before the summer tourist season. The colleague's get-together was organized with the support of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and Adriatic Luxury Hotels.

MIM meetings, organized by CMPA, aim to build and strengthen the community of congress tourism professionals, connecting and building a strong community that elevates Croatian business tourism to a global level through the exchange of ideas and experiences. Additionally, the gatherings are intended to explore new event locations and review the association's work. This year in Dubrovnik, CMPA President, Ranko Filipović, delivered a brief introductory presentation on the association's activities since the previous DBV MIM.

Interactive Workshop 'Knowledge Share - Tips & Tricks'

A novelty at this year's gathering was the education session "Knowledge Share - Tips & Tricks," organized by CMPA in five Croatian cities with the support of local tourist boards. The first one was held during the MIM in Dubrovnik and covered topics related to organizing international conferences, with a focus on medical conferences, exhibiting at fairs and workshops, as well as inspection and study trips.

The education session was designed as an interactive workshop, involving group activities and problem-solving. An example of an inspection trip involved the task of organizing visits to two hotels, presenting a hotel that is currently closed due to the winter season, and proposing a site inspection program for organizers of an international scientific conference. The workshop was highly interactive, with members actively contributing their practical examples.

The informal gathering of CMPA members continued with coffee and lunch.
