Dubrovnik is hosting the South-East European Forum on Orthopaedics and Traumatology

Croatian Orthopaedic Society and Croatian Forum on Orthopaedics and Traumatology are organizing the 4th edition of the South-East European Forum on Orthopaedics and Traumatology (SEEFORT), and they chose unique city of Dubrovnik as the host. The Forum will take place from 4th to 6th of May 2023 at the Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel, located between Dubrovnik Airport and the city centre, making it a perfect oasis for meeting and discussing orthopaedic and trauma themes.

Multidisciplinary programme presenting latest innovations

Forum’s goal is to present the latest scientific and clinical innovations in the field of orthopaedic surgery and traumatology. This year’s scientific program will thus, among others, include very interesting topics such as regenerative orthopaedics with presentation of new treatment options for cartilage and joints, robotic surgery in orthopaedics, musculoskeletal infections with the latest control drugs and treatment protocols, treatment of obesity in orthopaedic patients and new technologies in knee ligament reconstruction. As a novelty to the programme there will also be hands-on-workshops and small interactive groups for clinicians, OR personnel, as well sessions dedicated to residents, nurses and physiotherapists.

After the successful first three editions, that were held in 2015, 2017 and 2019, the Forum will once again be a multidisciplinary combination of research and practice, giving the opportunity to interact and share clinical and research experiences with colleagues from the orthopaedic and musculoskeletal community from all over the world. Prominent domestic and international speakers will provide comprehensive, up-to-date, research-based answers to the most frequent questions that arise in this rapidly evolving field of medicine. Among the speakers particularly stand out Nikalus F. Friederich, MD, Prof. Dr. med. form Basel and Matthias Zumstein, Prof. Dr. med. form Bern in Switzerland, Dr. Andrej Trampuž from Berlin (Germany) and from England Prof. Richard Field and Dr. Akash Sharma.

Focus on knowledge and experience exchange

The concept of the Forum is based on the interactive relationship between participants and invited speakers from all over the world allowing for socialization and the fulfilment of Strokes’ motto “Let’s study together”. The aim of the Forum is to transfer knowledge within the field of orthopaedics and traumatology and contribute to the harmonization of educational programs and the profession itself with EU standards.

The organizers are convinced that Forum will be the place to revive old and form new friendships, and hope that participants will find it stimulating, informative and pleasurable: “We hope that each participant will find his/her interest, regardless of whether he/she works on instructional lectures, consultations for the complex cases shown, or attends debates on issues from virtually all fields of orthopaedics and traumatology that beset us.”, members of the organizing committee say.

In addition to the scientific program and lectures within the hotel, during three days, through additional social programs, guided tours and free time, participants of the Forum will have the opportunity to get to know all the charms and wonders of Dubrovnik.
