LUMIART Festival of Light – celebrating its 5th anniversary in collaboration with numerous partners

The fifth anniversary edition of the LUMIART Festival of Light, organized by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board and Pixel Design, with the support of the City of Dubrovnik, will take place from November 7 to 9, 2025.
This year’s theme, titled “Underwater City,” features both independent programs and a collaboration with the Dubrovnik Jazz Outbreak Festival, which takes place during the same period.

Dubrovnik will welcome a number of internationally acclaimed multimedia artists, including the Hungarian collectives Fényhangár and Night Projection, Ignat Radu from Romania — a creator who has performed at major festivals worldwide and last year presented his installation “Faceless” at Sponza Palace — as well as Dubrovnik-based Pixel Design.
Visitors will have the opportunity to experience the magic of technology, contemporary art, and innovative creativity through projections, 3D mapping, and audiovisual interactive installations.

During the festival, Dubrovnik Aquarium will host Open Days, offering visitors a glimpse into the fascinating world of marine life.
On the opening night, November 7, the Aquarium will be open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and on November 8 and 9 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
A special attraction will be the multimedia sound installation “The Sound of Salt” by Vana Gaćina, providing an interactive experience for all visitors.

The official opening ceremony will take place on November 7 at 6:30 p.m. in front of Sponza Palace, featuring Pixel Design’s audiovisual project “Genesis” – a magical sound and light journey marking the start of the three-day festival.

As part of the collaboration between LUMIART and Dubrovnik Jazz Outbreak, the renowned jazz ensemble Black Coffee, accompanied by the beautiful voice of Ana Uršula Najev, will perform on Saturday, November 8, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in front of Sponza Palace, enhanced by impressive visual projections by Pixel Design.

Throughout the three days of the festival, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., strolling along Stradun, the squares, old palaces, and cultural institutions will become a truly unique experience with numerous light and interactive programs.

Discover special festival offers from Dubrovnik's restaurants and bars during the Lumiart and Dubrovnik Jazz Outbreak Festivals, November 7–9.
