Organized by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the Croatian National Tourist Board, its representative office in Italy, and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Tourist Board, a television crew from Italy’s RAI 2 is currently in Dubrovnik, led by the well-known presenter duo Luca and Daniela Sardella. Their popular show Green Lovers, aimed at young viewers and focused on nature, culture, and sustainable tourism, is filming a special episode in southern Croatia — with a spotlight on Dubrovnik, Konavle, and Ston.
During filming, the crew captured some of the most picturesque views of Dubrovnik’s historic Old City, with a special emphasis on locations connected to the popular series Game of Thrones, as well as on the city’s rich cultural heritage, which places Dubrovnik among the most attractive Mediterranean destinations. Filming also took place on Lokrum Island, in Dubrovnik’s museums, along the city walls, on Mount Srđ, and featured a special performance by the Linđo Folklore Ensemble at Lazareti.
The episode is expected to air on RAI 2 and the multimedia platform RaiPlay. Given the show’s strong reach among younger audiences and its promotion across social media, the project is an important step in positioning Dubrovnik as an attractive, sustainable, and culturally rich destination for Italian visitors.
Italy remains one of Dubrovnik’s most important source markets, consistently ranking among the top ten in terms of arrivals and overnight stays. In 2024, Dubrovnik welcomed 41,205 Italian visitors and recorded 102,188 overnight stays — an impressive 42 percent increase in arrivals compared to 2023, and a 53 percent rise in overnight stays. In 2025, Dubrovnik Airport (Ruđer Bošković) is connected to several Italian cities: Milan–Bergamo (easyJet), Bari (Volotea and Ryanair), Rome–Fiumicino (Vueling Airlines, Ryanair, and Croatia Airlines), and Naples (easyJet).
