MIA ĆUK - From the water I see the top of an orange tree
In the tension of the view, the garden is a small, lost arcadia. We, who sit in it, act as caryatids of an imperishable life.We lend ourselves to views, ever turned towards the restless interior. It is difficult to explain that even while in the garden, we are those outsideit.Staying a few days in Lapad, I build an audio-ambience made of records, notes andsensory fragments collected in, and shaped for the garden of Flora's home. Inthis arrangement, I draw in several other authors who spent time in the gardens, thought and wrote about them, and whose texts managed to squeeze between poorlyarranged clothes in an overfilled suitcase. The collection of poetic fragmentsthus takes the form of a kind of dialogue-noise that swells, grows and mergeswith the polyphony of the bay, to which it inevitably belongs.***Mia Ćuk is an artist who often takes on curatorial, organizational and editorialroles as aspects of her artistic practice.
