The Dubrovnik Tourist Board – Convention Bureau is an independent and non-profit body that helps the organisers of business events, conferences and incentives in the realisation of projects and promotes Dubrovnik as a desirable MICE destination on world markets. The Convention Bureau is in charge of Dubrovnik's bid to host international meetings, organisation of inspection trips, and presentation of MICE offers at specialised international trade shows and workshops. It provides domestic and international event organisers with advice and assistance in all aspects of event organisation.
Promotion of Dubrovnik at international trade shows and workshops
Among the most important activities of the Convention Bureau is active participation in world markets of the meetings industry, which encourages the further development of Dubrovnik's MICE offer and its recognition on international markets. In cooperation with the Croatian National Tourist Board – Convention Bureau, Dubrovnik participates every year in specialized international trade shows such as IMEX Frankfurt, IMEX Las Vegas and IBTM Barcelona, as well as the regional Conventa trade show in Ljubljana and the Croatian national MICE trade show MEETEX. Participation in trade shows implies a large number of prearranged, but also unannounced, B2B meetings with international buyers of MICE services. During meetings, the entire MICE offer of Dubrovnik and all the advantages of the destination are presented to them - from meetings hotels, historical locations, special facilities, quality PCO and DMC agencies to imaginative incentive ideas.
The Dubrovnik Tourist Board – Convention Bureau presents the destination's offer at numerous specialised workshops around the world, where presentations are held and meetings with key partners are held as part of it.
Study and inspection trips to get to know the destination
The best way for international buyers to experience and get to know Dubrovnik, its attractions, and all aspects of the MICE offer is to experience it for themselves. Therefore, during the year, the Convention Bureau also organises inspection or fam trips for groups of foreign and domestic buyers. In this way, they now have the opportunity to experience everything they heard about Dubrovnik at meetings or presentations and thus make a decision about hosting their event. Such trips are also organised for specialised journalists, which is a key part of the additional presentation and promotion of the destination in various markets.
