Ahead of the 1053rd Festivity of St. Blaise, we are approaching the traditional multi-day humanitarian event, FESTA 2025 DUBROVNIK, which is being organized for the twenty-fourth time this year. The event brings a rich and diverse program of music, entertainment, theater, exhibitions, and gastronomy-educational activities.

Festa 2025 Dubrovnik kicks off with the traditional FESTA OD KLAPA on Thursday, January 23, at the Marin Držić Theater. As per tradition, Festa od Klapa gathers the finest klapa (traditional Dalmatian a cappella groups) from southern Croatia, who annually honor Dubrovnik’s patron saint with their singing while paying tribute to great composers and the centuries past.

The main gala humanitarian concert, BUCO & FRIENDS, is dedicated to the 55th anniversary of Dubrovnik musician Buco Pende's career and the 100th anniversary of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra. Buco will be joined on stage by Srđan Kadrić, Sergio Gjivoje, Frano Matušić, Vicko Dragojević, Luka Šerić, and Klapa Kaše, with Slobodan Begić conducting the orchestra. The concert is scheduled for Friday, January 24, and tickets for all theater concerts can be purchased at the Marin Držić Theater box office or online via www.ulaznice.hr.

Performances by the Kolarin Theater Group are also part of the rich program of Festa 2025 Dubrovnik. On Sunday, January 26, at 5 PM, Kolarin will present the children's charity play THE EMPEROR'S NEW CLOTHES, written by Ana Tonković and directed by Paolo Tišljarić, at the Marin Držić Theater. Proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Katarina Nobilo as part of the "For Katin's Step" campaign. On Tuesday, January 30, at 8 PM, Kolarin will perform the hit play MATRIMONIJO, authored by Jozo Lovrić Jadrijev and also directed by Paolo Tišljarić. Tickets are available at the Marin Držić Theater and online at www.ulaznice.hr.

The concert DIVAS IN ST. BLAISE, which never leaves anyone indifferent and is attended by opera divas from across Croatia, will take place on Saturday, January 25, at 7 PM. Accompanied by pianist Helena Tomašković, performers include Diana Hilje, Terezija Kusijanović, Adela Golac Rilović, Jelena Štefanić, and Valentina Elizabeta Šilje.

The exhibition ST. BLAISE – OUR DREAM OF FREEDOM will open on Monday, January 27, at 6 PM in the foyer of the Marin Držić Theater, in collaboration with the Dubrovnik Society of Fine Artists and supported by KMD, UGD, DMD, and MHI.

On Wednesday, January 29, at 11 AM, a FESTA OD VINA workshop will be held in collaboration with the DEŠA association, the Tourist and Hospitality School, and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board. The workshop will focus on traditional dishes and wines associated with St. Blaise and will take place at the Mimoza restaurant.

As part of this year’s FESTA, the event “Maestro Đelo Jusić” – Millennial Image by Šime Strikoman will take place by Orlando’s Column on Thursday, January 30, at 10 AM.

Another humanitarian exhibition featuring the youngest artists from the Little School of Painting and the Lions Club St. Blaise will be opened on Friday, January 31, at 6 PM at Luža, under the title "Little Painters with Lion Hearts and St. Blaise."

The presentation of Silvana Jakuš’s book “Atlas – Witnesses of Time,” which has already garnered significant public interest, will take place on Saturday, February 1, at 6 PM at the Visia Cinema.

On Sunday, February 2, the FESTA OD VINA NA KANDELORU will be held in collaboration with the Chamber of Economy, the Chamber of Crafts, and the Dubrovnik-Neretva County at the City Café starting at 11 AM. Winemakers from our county will present their wines at the event.

The humanitarian purpose of the twenty-fourth FESTA is directed toward the renovation of the Church of St. Blaise.

FESTA DUBROVNIK is traditionally the first significant event in Croatia’s annual calendar of music and cultural activities. It is always held during the week leading up to the Feast of St. Blaise and is part of the overall celebration of the City of Dubrovnik's Day. FESTA has been held continuously for the past 24 years.

FESTA is a joint project realized through the collaboration of various entities, including cultural institutions, associations, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, the City of Dubrovnik, the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, the Chamber of Economy, the Chamber of Crafts, and others.

All proceeds from ticket sales, after covering costs, are donated to humanitarian purposes.
