Dubrovnik will once again host runners from all over the world on its stone streets. The eighth edition of Du Motion - Runners' Days Dubrovnik will take place on the 27th and 28th of April.

Traditionally, this sports spectacle opens with the demanding yet highly attractive Run the Wall, which transforms one of the most monumental fortifications in the world into an exclusive race track for those craving special challenges on Saturday, the 27th of April. On the same day, the Orlando Kid’s Race fills Stradun with the laughter and joy of Dubrovnik's pre-schoolers and elementary school students.

Sunday, the 28th of April, is reserved for the flagship event of the festival, the Dubrovnik Half Marathon, which takes runners from the embrace of the city walls to a panoramic route along the Dubrovnik coast. And the humanitarian race Dubrovnik 5K, which aims to support the little hero Marko Akrap and his family in further treatment this year.

"There are very few races that can boast such interest from foreign runners, and even fewer that maintain that interest year after year. From that perspective, we are extremely proud of the level we have brought this event to over the years and established Dubrovnik as a desirable racing destination. These are mostly people who come in groups or with families and enjoy everything the city has to offer for several days. Furthermore, we are extremely pleased that a large number of our fellow citizens participate in the races, primarily in the 5K race, which has a noble goal every year," said Du Motion director Alen Bošković.

One of the most attractive running destinations

Around 2,700 participants from almost 50 countries will be part of this year's edition of the "most international" Croatian racing event. Many of them return to run in Dubrovnik because they want to experience its greatest assets again, especially the route that passes through the most beautiful parts of the city, starting and finishing on Stradun, as well as the beautiful ambiance throughout the event and the widely known hospitality of Dubrovnik. There are also rich starter packages that include, among other things, an attractive finisher's medal, free public transportation, entrance to the Dubrovnik city walls and museums, and an excursion to the island of Lokrum.

In addition to putting Dubrovnik on the map of attractive destinations for lovers of active leisure and recreation, Du Motion has also prompted the development of volunteering in a short time. Around 650 volunteers are involved in the organization, with a large part being students from elementary and high schools, who will be joined by numerous city services, the Red Cross, sports and auto clubs, and the Croatian Mountain Rescue Service in their efforts to ensure that everything runs absolutely smoothly.

Everyone who has run in Du Motion races so far agrees that it is an unforgettable experience they definitely intend to repeat, and Dubrovnik welcomes them each time with open arms and an open heart!
