International Late Summer Music Festival 2016

For the fourth year, Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra organizes the International Late Summer Music Festival Dubrovnik, a festival that celebrates music in the most wonderful time of the year.  The idea is to keep the presence of quality musical events in late summer in Dubrovnik's Old Town which is part of the world's cultural heritage under the protection of UNESCO.

It is consisted of 16 events: symphonic concerts, chamber music concerts, recitals and one jazz concert and all of them take place in the wonderful ambient of Rector's Palace Atrium.

The music director of the festival is Austrian conductor, maestro Christoph Campestrini who will conduct several concerts during the festival and the orchestra will also have an opporunity to colaborate with renowned conductors such as are Charles Olivieri-Munroe, Stefan Sanderling, Mladen Tarbuk and Tomislav Fačini.

From August 26 to September 23, the Festival will gather the orchestra, the choir and more than 20 soloists from Croatia and all over the world. The Festival will also cooperate with other city festivals which will bring us great concerts: with Dubrovnik Summer Festival we will have an opportunity to enjoy 'Key to the future' - a program which presents young laureates of prestigious international competitions such as Yuri Favorin and Andrew Tyson.

Some of the names at International Late Summer Music Festival Dubrovnik 2016 are  Austrian flutist Elisabeth Möst, guitarist Maroje Brčić, first violin of The Vienna Philharmonic Daniel Froschauer, one of the best Croatian pianists Martina Filjak, Dubrovnik Guitar Trio, world famous mezzo-sopranos from Croatia – Renata Pokupić, Dubravka Šeparović Mušović, an excellent young violinist from Dubrovnik Đana Kahriman, one of the best Croatian jazz musicians – Matija Dedić and Šimun Matišić, great Croatian mezzo-soprano Diana Haller, Russian violinist Dmitry Sinkovsky, one of the world's most famous guitarist lutist Edin Karamazov, Dubrovnik born mezzo-soprano Janja Vuletić, pianist Naira Asatrian, USA renowned pianist James Dick...
