On Danče, overlooking the sea, there is a convent complex with a votive onenave Church of St Mary, with a graveyard and the remains of one of the oldest 15th century Ragusan lazarettos. The church portal, with a relief of the Madonna, was carved by an anonymous local craftsman in the Gothic and Renaissance style. The paintings by Nikola Božidarević (1517), and Lovro Dobričević (1465) are displayed in its interior. The nuns keep the custom of waving and ringing bells thus greeting the ships at sea passing by their convent.
