Incentive idea: Renaissance evening in Dubrovnik with music and dance

With its historical charm and rich cultural heritage, Dubrovnik is the ideal stage for the organisation of unique incentive programs that take participants back to the golden age of the Republic of Dubrovnik. One such program is staging a renaissance ceremony with music, dance and a superb gastronomic experience in one of Dubrovnik's historical sites such as the Sponza Palace, the Rector's Palace, the Revelin Fortress and Lovrijenac Fortress or the Franciscan Monastery along the Ombla River in Rožat.

Dubrovnik lived its economic and cultural peak in the era of humanism and renaissance. One of the most creative periods in literature and art left a big mark on Dubrovnik. And this cultural flourishing was manifested in the construction of numerous public and sacred buildings, as well as a rich social life. The aesthetic value of public buildings indicates the significant development and organisation of the then Republic of Dubrovnik, while private palaces and summer houses give an insight into the culture of life of the people of Dubrovnik at that time. Exactly such locations, with a historical atmosphere, are the perfect choice for organising an incentive program of a festive evening in the spirit of the Renaissance.

One of them is certainly the Sponza Palace - the most beautiful palace in the city and the most expressive example of the Gothic-Renaissance style of specific Dubrovnik architecture from the 16th century, as well as the most representative object of public importance from the time of the full rise of the Republic of Dubrovnik. The courtyard of the palace, made up of arcades, was the liveliest shopping centre and meeting place for business people, and today, with its opulence, it has become the most desirable place for organising festive receptions. There is also the Gothic-Renaissance palace of the Rector's Palace, whose atrium, with its acoustics, offers a perfect ambience through which the sounds of historical music will resound. If you want to organise a Renaissance evening under the stars, the impressive terraces of one of Dubrovnik's fortresses are a great choice. Revelin Fortress, the most massive Dubrovnik fortress, offers an irresistible view of the Dubrovnik panorama, and Lovrijenac Fortress, known as Dubrovnik's Gibraltar, located on a cliff 37m above sea level on the western side of the city, offers a view of the enchanting blue sea. Another authentic historical location is the Franciscan monastery from the 14th century in Rožat. Located in a beautiful sea-river bay in the immediate vicinity of Dubrovnik, a favourite location for the summer residences of the Dubrovnik nobility, it offers a truly special historical ambience.

The Renaissance era evokes in us the image of impetuous knights, aristocracy, beautiful girls and their glamorous dresses and sumptuous feasts. The incentive program of the Renaissance evening will bring the participants back to this era, where they will dine and dance as these historical characters did. The event, in addition to a sumptuous gastronomic offer of traditional dishes made from locally sourced ingredients and an offer of top wines of autochthonous varieties, also includes an all-night performance of Renaissance music and dances. In addition to dancing, costumed dancers welcome guests at the entrance, escort them to the tables, walk courteously with ceremonial bows, while musicians perform Renaissance music on authentic musical instruments. If you want to add some excitement and additional content to the event, a stage fencing duel between two aristocrats can be put on.
