“Wherever we are, what we hear is mostly noise. When we ignore it, it disturbs us. When welisten to it, we find it fascinating.” - John CageAfter last year's exhibitions of works inspired by lockdown, bans and pandemic measurescalled "Forbidden Melody", I once again tackled the current problem, this time theforthcoming demolition of my family’s home to build a highway. Namely, after the Matulji –Tunnel Učka highway was built in the 1980's, my family's home ended up being only 6 metersaway from that same road. From year to year the traffic became heavier and louder, andlife without noise barriers, which were not set up despite numerous inquiries, becameunbearable. On top of that, for decades, no one knew when or on which side the second lanewould be built, meaning, no one knew whose home would be destroyed. The decision was madein early 2021, and uncertainty was replaced by daily stress and anticipation. As aparticipant in this, along with my family, neighbors and others who are going through thetrauma of many years of uncertainty, I want to show the (un)importance of those people whofor several generations remain without their land and live with noise. This is how the multidisciplinary project "6 meters" was created, which includes anexperimental film, a series of installations and drawings, and a solo album with originalcompositions. The entire opus of works, both visually and acoustically, is intertwinedwith guiding themes about the demolition of houses, confiscation of land, unrest andunhealthy life that is imposed due to the construction of transport infrastructure. The theater of coexistence of mental pain of individuals and traffic noise just a fewmeters away is a feeling that many have experienced living along the road. Through thearchaeological layer of oblivion, I made an experimental activist film about theexperience of people who experienced the injustice of the former political system and theuncertainty of the present. In the final scene of the film, the portraits of the membersof my family are projected from the viaduct onto the highw7ay, and the traffic inevitablyoverwhelms their speech since vehicles overrun the image but cannot see it due to thelight.Among the works presented at the exhibition are "Drawings of complaints" in which I drewscenes of construction work through numerous complaints of citizens to the institutions.Complaints are related to noise, stench, pollution, and environmental and social aspectsof the impact of road on population and nature. I would also like to point out the"Asphalt Requiem", ie a series of several objects laid on the floor that at first seemlike seedlings of the earth, but since they are made of asphalt, they pay tribute to alldamaged buildings and confiscated land on the route Učka Tunnel - Matulji. The feeling is complemented by the soundtrack of the project, the album "6 meters"recorded exclusively on bass guitar and double bass,
