Two dozen Korean agents, tour operator representatives and journalists took part in the educational presentation and business workshop. The welcome speech was held by the Ambassador of the Republic of Croatia designate to the Republic of Korea and Japan, Dražen Hrastić. He announced the opening of the Croatian embassy in South Korea by the end of June 2017, which will certainly contribute to the promotion of Croatia in that country.

The Director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, Romana Vlašić; the Croatian Ambassador Dražen Hrastić and the Croatian Consul in Korea In-Mo Yang were invited to an official meeting with one of the leading Korean politicians dr. Jin Park and the agenda covered business and tourist cooperation between the two countries.

After the presentation and the business workshop, from 8th until 11th June there was the tourist fair HANA TOUR INTERNATIONAL TRAVEL SHOW 2017, which gathered 500 exhibitors from 40 countries with more than 1000 booths. There has been a steady growth of interest in Croatia in this Far East Country and it all started with several reality shows which introduced Koreans to the beauties of our country. The most popular one, which depicted the attractions in Dubrovnik as well as those in other parts of Croatia was 'The Romantic in Croatia'. It featured five young men and women from Korea searching for love in some of the most beautiful Croatian destinations. Thus the reality show became an excellent commercial for Croatian tourism and the number of guests from that market rose significantly.

In 2016 in Dubrovnik there were 42.512 Korean tourists which had 78.467 overnight stays. From 1st January until 10th June 2017 Korean tourists had 19.966 arrivals, which is a 16-percent increase compared to the same period last year. They also had 31.829 overnight stays, which is 12% more than in 2016.
