Grand presentation of Croatia and the entire Croatian tourist offer in Australia
For the first time, the Croatian National Tourist Board organized a presentation of Croatia and Croatia's tourist offer in Australia. The presentation and workshop was held in front of 70 Australian travel agents and seven major Australian tour operators in Melbourne and was organized in cooperation with Slovenia's tourist organization called Experience Croatia, Feel Slovenia.
"Considering that these presentations and workshops are being organized for the first time on a particularly important and large market such as Australia, we are extremely pleased with the great response of Australian agents and partners, especially those who, for the first time, wish to travel to Croatia. There was also an excellent response from our tourist entities that recognize the potential of Croatia in the Australian market, with about 243,000 arrivals and more than 745,000 overnight stays last year, representing a 15 percent increase in arrivals and 12 percent more overnights stays than 2017. Australians mostly visit Zagreb, Dubrovnik and Split, where nearly 70 percent of the total number of Australian tourists who arrive in Croatia end up at. However, we have presented in Melbourne all four corners of Croatia from Istria, Kvarner, Slavonia, or all parts of our beautiful country," commented the director of the Croatian National Tourist Board, Kristjan Staničić. He added that incoming tourism from the Australian market is steadily growing and that in the first part of this year, in relation to the same period from last year, we have increased the number of arrivals and overnight stays from this market by more than 7 percent.

Eleven Croatian tourist entities participated in the presentation and workshops, namely the Dubrovnik-Neretva County Tourist Board, Rijeka - European Capital of Culture 2020, Croatia Airlines, Zagreb Tourist Board, Dubrovnik Tourist Board, Katarina Line Cruises & Tours, Atlas Plus, Navigare Yachting, Bagatin Clinic, Aronda Adriana Travel and Olivari, while Slovenia's tourist offer was represented by four Slovenian partners such as KNM Travel, Ljubljana tourism & Ljubljana Castle, Palma travel DMC and Happy tours.

"Since 2015, we have seen a steady increase in Australian guests, and we have been presenting Zagreb as a year-round destination with a special emphasis on cultural and health tourism," said the director of the Zagreb Tourist Board, Martina Bienenfeld, while the director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, Romana Vlašić, pointed out that Australian tourists are the sixth most numerous in the city and is among the fastest growing distant market. She also emphasised that Australian tourists visit Dubrovnik throughout the whole year.

Among the largest Australian tour operators, the presentation was attended by Adriatica, a company that is part of Impulse Travel Group with over 30 years of experience of offering Croatia; Beyond Travel, the leading Australian and New Zealand company specializing in Central and Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, Turkey, Greece, Croatia and Slovenia, as well as cruise travel and Outdoor Travel company specializing in active holidays in Europe, which operates with over 1,200 agents throughout Australia.
