VALENTINE'S DAY
Dubrovnik among the most romantic cities in the world for marriage proposals

For Valentine's Day Dubrovnik offers lovers the charm of its history, timeless beauty, and special atmosphere, and for many years it has been recognized in the media as one of the world's most beautiful destinations for honeymoons, one of the most romantic cities in the world, and one of the greatest destinations for marriage proposals. Upon this year's Valentine's Day, Dubrovnik has once again found itself at the top of the list of destinations that have been selected as the most beautiful sites for marriage proposals.

On the Indian web site BloombergQuint in the article titled ˝Best Places in the World to Propose: Romantic Travel Destinations˝ (featuring the most beautiful places in the world to propose and romantic travel destinations), Dubrovnik has been listed among the most attractive destinations for marriage proposals.

This text is from a book published by National Geographic titled The World's Most Romantic Destinations and authored by Abbie Kozolchyk, and in her text about Dubrovnik she mentions her hosts, the ALH hotel group, specifically Hotel Excelsior and Villa Orsula. In the book the author has selected fifty of the world’s most romantic destinations, while the web site BloombergQuint singled out nine destinations, where besides Dubrovnik they list the Taj Mahal in India, Lapland, the Philippines, Victoria Falls and others. BloombergQuint is part of the Bloomberg global media group for business and finance and on the Indian market it operates together with Quintilliun Media. http://www.bloombergquint.com/pursuits/2017/02/13/best-places-in-the-world-to-propose-romantic-travel-destinations

Each year hundreds of foreign couples crown their love by getting married in Dubrovnik, keeping the photos of Dubrovnik as an unforgettable memory of the wedding. Along with this past Valentine’s Day weekend, and the actual day of Valentine’s Day, the Dubrovnik Tourist Board has organised the Valentine’s Gastro Days in collaboration with fifteen Dubrovnik restaurants, and as a special surprise for all of those in love, tonight's concert at the Marin Držić Theatre. The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will offer a varied program with the British guest conductor Colin Metters, conductor Đelo Jusić, and lyrics by Luko Paljetak. Admission is free, with prior reservation at the theatre box office.

We wish everyone a wonderful Valentine's Day and we hope that the romantic atmosphere and St. Valentine will create the ambience for a marriage proposal or two in the City that has rightfully been ranked among the most romantic destinations in the world.

Happy Valentine’s Day!
