With the arrival of spring in Dubrovnik, the musical life is awakening as well, and classical music lovers have the opportunity to enjoy the numerous concerts of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra. The period from April till the end of May is covered by the musical cycle called Dubrovnik Music Spring. The cycle is directed by the American conductor Marc Tardue, and it brings a series of concerts held at attractive Dubrovnik locations, of which the most beloved is definitely the Rector's Palace, both to the audience and to many musicians from all over the world.

The concert season at the Rector's Palace will begin with a concert of the DSO String Ensemble with maestro Ivan Hut, a talented Croatian conductor who has worked with and had lessons from famous world known conductors. During the spring cycle, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will join forces with renowned conductors such as the famous maestro Uroš Lajovic, the aforementioned chief conductor Marc Tardue and Pavle Zajcev. Focus of solo performances will be on Croatian musicians and prominent members of the DSO. From baroque, renaissance, romanticism and classicism, to popular, latino and film music, Dubrovnik's visitors in the spring time will surely find a musical choice for themselves.
