A prestigious honour was awarded to the Dubrovnik Tourist Board
Dubrovnik is one of the leading congress destinations in Southeast Europe
The magazine Kongres awarded Dubrovnik the ˝Meeting Star Award˝ in the category of destinations that can accommodate up to 1,200 congress participants at the Conventa 2018 congress fair held in Ljubljana from 23 to 25 January.
Gorazd Čad, the Editor-in-Chief of Kongres magazine and co-founder of the Conventa event presented the great honour and award to the Director of the Tourist Board, Romana Vlašić, and stressed that interest in Dubrovnik is increasing every year. He also pointed out that this year's Conventa hosted the largest number of buyers to date, particularly from the United States, who showed great interest in Dubrovnik, as one of the leading international destinations in Southeast Europe.
Prizes were awarded in four categories and besides Dubrovnik, Vienna, Ljubljana and Kranjska Gora were awarded in the other three categories.
Kongres magazine is one of the leading media outlets in the congress industry and brings together and disseminates information about organising meetings for the world’s top experts. It is expected that around 4,000 meetings will take place at the fair that will be attended by the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
