Dubrovnik Islamic Community Majlis

when Bosnia and Herzegovina - following the Vienna Congress territorial agreement and the will of the world powers at the time - was integrated into the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy, so that Dubrovnik and its Bosnian and Herzegovinian hinterland became parts of the same state. A more permanent stay of the people of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Dubrovnik dates back to the early 20th century. The Islamic Community was officially inaugurated on 24 July 1933. The Community seat is located in the Old City centre. The Islamic Community has its own premises including a Masjid (place of worship), offices, a Mektebi (religious instruction room), a library and a youth club. The Masjid is open on a daily basis from 10.00 am - 1.00 pm. Group prayers at the Masjid include the Noon (Dhur), Sunset (Maghrib) and Evening (Isha). The prayers take place according to the Dubrovnik Islamic Community official schedule.
