Andrean Ensemble Bio

Founded in 1929, St. Andrew's School is a co-ed, all-boarding, Episcopal high school for students in grades 9-12. The campus is located on 2200 acres in Middletown, Delaware. Our community is dedicated to tying education to a public purpose. We promote engagement, inquiry and creativity, helping students understand the responsibilities we share for our world. Our goal is to build future generations of thoughtful, compassionate and intelligent leaders.

The Andrean Vocal Ensemble, a premier 28 voice coed choir sings throughout the year at St. Andrew's weekly chapel services and school events. including an annual service of Lessons and Carols.
Their repertoire includes sacred and secular music from the Renaissance to the present day. Recent programs have included folk songs from around the world, music from the stage and screen, and pieces arranged especially for the group by the director.
In addition to having sung at the White House, each year the group is invited to sing an Evensong service at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. In 2018 the choir was invited by the Orpheus Club (the oldest male singing club in the United States) as special guest artists at the The Academy of Music in Philadelphia. In recent years they have toured Bermuda, Cuba, Austria and Slovakia.
